Trick or Treat

Leah had a FANTASTIC Halloween this year!  Her friends Maddie and Jake came over to trick-or-treat with our little Raggedy Ann ("Rabbity Ann" as she called herself) around our cul-de-sac.  They had a blast!  Raggedy Ann had it down and knew to knock on the door, say "trick or treat" and then to say "thank you" when she got her treat.  She took all of her treats in her hand, though, and didn't know to hold out her bucket instead!  Her favorite thing, though, I think was passing out candy!  Every time our doorbell would ring, she would take off running towards the door yelling "trick or treat".  The kiddos she passed out candy to were super lucky because they got handfuls each!  We ended the evening at our neighbors annual trick or treat open house watching "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".  We had a WONDERFUL Halloween this year!

How do my freckles look Mommy?
Raggedy Ann's all ready to trick or treat!
Leah was mesmerized by the neighbor's yard so we snuck over to take a picture!
Fun with Maddie and Jake!

Fun with Braydon the dinosaur!

Eating her very first sucker
(she went on to have her second and third later this evening).
Happy Halloween from our family to yours!

Time for this trick or treater to go night night!

Pumpkin Carving Fun

Tonight after dinner, the girls read toy magazines and played with the dollhouse while the boys carved pumpkins! Leah was VERY excited that pumpkins were being carved but had zero interest in participating.....just like her Mama! I can't say I blame her, it's a messy, messy gig! She did, however, enjoy getting to blow the candles out at the end of the evening!
On a side note, her sweet little babysitter, Nora, bought her this Minnie/Mickey Mouse Halloween shirt. It was sitting on our porch one evening along with a loaf of pumpkin bread! She is the sweetest thing ever!!!!!

One proud pumpkin carver!

And just because, here she is on Friday wearing another cute spooky
outfit that her Mimi made her! She is one blessed little girl!

And since we're on the subject of pumpkins, here's the one she painted at school on Friday!

World Series and a Haunted House

While Daddy and Papaw did this.....
Leah and I did this.....

She LOVED it! She concentrated and worked so hard on her little haunted house. She decorated one whole side and then flipped it over and wanted Mommy to make a smiley face! She even followed the rules and didn't eat a single piece of candy until she was all done with her house! You better believe we'll be making a gingerbread house this year!

Halloween Party Day

Today was party day for Leah with all of her friends at Ms. Trish's house! Ms. Trish never ceases to amaze me! She had all of the kiddos (9 of them) bring their costumes with them instead of wearing them in the morning because she didn't want the big kids that had to leave for Kindergarten for the morning to be sad that they didn't get to wear their costumes. After nap today, she got all of the kids up and dressed in their costumes. Wow! I feel like I can barely get 1 kid dressed each day! Each kid brought a treat bag for the others. Leah came home with a HUGE bag full of treats! Also during her party, they decorated a cookie and made caramel apples. I'm telling you.....AMAZING! Leah had a fantastic day and was so excited when Papaw went with Daddy to pick her up!

My Little Candy Corn

Leah looked so cute in her little candy corn outfit that her Mimi made for her this morning that I just had to take her picture! We've been having a LITTLE bit of trouble with Leah wanting to get dressed in the mornings so today we enticed her with a candy corn since there were lots of candy corns on her outfit! Notice her holding her little treat in her hand! She savored every bite of that thing!

Leah has a big day tomorrow! She's having a Halloween party at Ms. Trish's house! She even gets to wear her costume! We made treats for everyone in her "class" so that they can trick-or-treat each other! Ms. Trish amazes me more and more each day! This sweet lady is incredible and we love her so so much!

Leah has a big surprise coming tomorrow afternoon! Her Papaw will be here to pick her up from Ms. Trish's house after her little party! He's flying into town because he and Daddy are going to the World Series Game 2 in San Francisco on Thursday! He's going to stay with us all weekend so that he can go trick-or-treating with us! We're going to have so much fun!
