Jumping With Jackson

I'm trying to get my blog all caught up!  Last Sunday (Nov. 20) Luke took Leah to Jackson's fourth birthday party at Sky High, an indoor trampoline place!  Jackson is one of her friends from preschool.  Leah's a pro on the trampolines at gymnastics so I knew she'd have a blast!  From the sounds of it, they had lots of fun!  Luke even got in on the action!  (Can you spot him in the green shirt?  He had one of the moms take a few pictures while he was jumping!)  Leah had tons of fun jumping with Jackson, Tanner and Grace all from her preschool class!

First Smiles

My baby boy is full of smiles!  Black Friday was the day!  He was just smiling away in his swing that morning and then again when he was on his playmat!  Now we can get lots of smiles from him throughout the day!  Leah started smiling at six weeks too so I was expecting Lane to debut his any day this week, and sure enough he did!  Melts a mama's heart!

And just some random cuteness.....

I was going through my scarfs and Leah wanted to play with one.  She started to tie it around her waist and Kelley asked her if it was her karate belt.  No, she said it was "her thing for her baby."  Sure enough, she put a baby right in just like Mommy puts Bubbie in her wrap!  Monkey see, monkey do!  And since we're talking about monkey see, monkey do.....YES she has "nursed" her babydoll!  I was mortified and tried not to acknowledge it and quickly started trying to get her mind on something else like Disneyland!  I pray that she doesn't do this to the babydolls at school!  (Oh, and she's wearing my flip flops in this picture too!)

And here's Big Sister aka Belle being such a big helper girl and putting Bubbie's Santa slippers on!

Thanksgiving in California

For the second year in a row, we stayed home for Thanksgiving.  Lane is way too young to fly just yet (I don't want him flying until he has started his shots) so we made the decision months ago that we would just celebrate here at home.  This year was super special, though, because it wasn't just the four of us.....Aunt Kelley came to celebrate with us so that she could meet her sweet baby nephew!

We have so much to be thankful for this year.....our two precious babies that are healthy and happy, a healthy Mommy and Daddy, Luke's amazing job that blesses us in so many ways, an amazing family who will drop everything to fly across the country to come and love on our babies and who spoil them rotten, friends who love my babies as their own, and a wonderful preschool that Leah is thriving in and learning so much about God just to name a few.

Our Thanksgiving dinner was delicious!  I ordered the turkey, gravy, macaroni and cheese, rolls, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and apple pie from one of our favorite restaurants, Sellands, in East Sac.  We all pitched in and cooked the dressing, broccoli salad, strawberry jello pretzel salad, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole (my Thanksgiving favorite) and fried green beans (Kelley's request instead of green bean casserole).  Everything was so so good!

Daddy and Leah cooking!

Lane doing what he does best while dinner was being prepared (and eaten)!

Daddy carving the turkey!

Dinner's ready!  I thought about breaking out the nice serving platters but decided to keep it simple.

Leah and Aunt Kelley all ready to eat!

We ended our evening with a fun game of Uno Attack.....the perfect game for Leah (colors, numbers and matching)!

And just a few fun pictures from Kelley's visit!  Leah LOVED playing with her!  She would barely let Kelley out of her sight!  One morning Kelley was playing with Leah in her bed and I asked Kelley a question (I can't even remember what it was) and Leah answered for her before Kelley could even speak saying "No, Kelley's gonna play for a minute."!  Leah was the boss and LOVED having a full-time playmate!

Baby Lane getting some Aunt Kelley lovin'!

To end the night, Kelley and I hit the mall at midnight!  My first Black Friday shopping experience and probably my last!  It was CRAZY!  I've never in my life seen the mall so busy!  We waited in line at Express for 45 minutes!  No thank you!  But, it was a fun night/morning with my baby sister!

We miss you already Aunt Kelley and can't wait to see you in March!

Stone Soup Feast

Today was Leah's Stone Soup Feast at preschool!  This is a huge event that they put on each year at this time for all of the families as a way of saying thank you.  It was big.....900 plus people!  The event started with a parade of all of the classes.  Leah's in the "puppies" class so they were dressed like little puppies.  So cute!  We then all went into the auditorium, found our assigned table and waited patiently to enjoy our soup.  The soup was prepared yesterday with lots of help from little hands.  All of the kids were asked to bring three vegetables.  I went to help out in Leah's class yesterday (Tuesday) to help chop and prepare the veggies so that the kids could then "chop" them and add them to the soup.  Leah was very proud of the soup that she made and ate it right up during lunch!

Getting ready for the parade!

Here come the puppies!

Time for Stone Soup!  We were so fortunate that Aunt Kelley was able to join us!

Each table was asked to designate a drink pourer and a food runner!

Yumm!  Yumm!

Brother woke up just enough to get a quick picture with Sister!  Not an easy task!

Just a few more pics from the feast!

To end the event, they had a raffle drawing and we won a gift basket with some goodies and a $20 gift card to the grocery store!  Yay!!!!!  (Actually, Lane did!  His name was written on the ticket and called out!)  :)

Lane's Newborn/Family Photos

A few weeks ago (when Lane was two weeks and six days old) we had his newborn pictures taken along with family pictures and Leah's three-year-old pictures.  I was so so happy with how they turned out!  It was quite the two hour ordeal with several feeding sessions and lots of potty excitement (as in Lane went potty on Mommy, Daddy and Big Sister)!  Misty took over three hundred pictures, but here is just a tiny sample of some of my very favorites!  A special thanks to Misty Bell at Bella Studios!

Time to order birth announcements and Christmas cards!
