Christmas Eve Breakfast

Christmas Eve has always been the day of celebration for my family.  We open gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa even comes that day.  Yes, that day.  Santa got tired and started delivering our gifts before we went to bed instead of after.  This is completely understandable as my brother is the world's biggest night owl!  We would always get lottery tickets in our stockings.  My dad would then take us to the store right away to cash them in and when we returned to Mimi and Grandaddy's house, Santa would have come!  Genius!  Christmas Day consisted of Mimi's famous Christmas breakfast and then Christmas lunch/dinner that day.

Fast forward to today, and my family still celebrates on Christmas Eve.  The only difference between now and then is that we have added Mimi's famous breakfast to Christmas Eve so that Chris and Kylie can celebrate with her family on Christmas Day!  This works perfect!

Caroline enjoying her first Christmas breakfast at Mimi's!  This is one of her Daddy's very favorite Christmas traditions!

PLEASE SAY SOME PRAYERS FOR THIS SWEET BABY GIRL (AND HER MOMMY AND DADDY TOO).  SHE IS ON DAY 8 OF A STAY IN THE HOSPITAL.  RSV TURNED INTO PNEUMONIA THAT TURNED INTO A STREP INFECTION IN HER LUNG.  SHE HAD SURGERY SATURDAY NIGHT TO REMOVE THE INFECTION.  WE'RE PRAYING SHE GOES HOME ON FRIDAY.

I tried so hard to get a picture of the babies in front of Mimi's Christmas tree.  They were WAY into this snow globe (and were pretty much fighting over it) to pay the camera any sort of attention.

Notice Lane's jewels.....he's CRAZY about necklaces and bracelets, CRAZY I tell ya!

Fun in Texas Before Christmas

Friday, December 21st we boarded a 737 (just a couple of hours before a storm rolled in and flights were cancelled) and made our way to the Lone Star State.  Kids were awesome on both flights as usual, and Nana, Papaw and Aunt Kelley were standing in baggage claim in the Lubbock airport ready for hugs and to take a sleeping baby boy who fell asleep for the first time all day merely minutes before we landed.

Lots of fun was had in Texas!  We could not WAIT to play with Caroline!

And just for the record, our first stop was Taco Villa!

Bright and early on Saturday morning (Dec. 22nd), the boys (minus Lane, sorry Bub) headed to Dallas for the Texas high school football state championships.  They each had a different reason for going on the roadtrip...Luke went for the football, Papaw for the jokes told in the car and Chris to eat at Texas De Brazil.  Sounds like they had a blast!

PAPAW, PLEASE SEND ME YOUR PICS AND I'LL POP THEM IN RIGHT HERE!!!

While the boys were away, the girls (and Lane) went to Mimi's house for a tea party!  Leah LOVES Mimi's tea parties.  She hosted one for her when we were last there in March and Leah still talks about it to this day!  While we were there Mimi had a surprise for Leah.....a new dress up dress!  Leah has deemed it her "party dress" and says she is wearing it to every single future birthday party she is invited to!  Mimi also gave her a pair of her old shoes to wear with the dress.  These were the shoes that Mimi wore to my wedding so they really are special to us!  You'll notice them on Leah in lots of the Texas pictures.  She wore them often!  AND Leah and Lane wore their matching Christmas outfits that Mimi made them.  I could kick myself for not getting a picture of them together in them for Leah put on her "party dress"!

Sunday we just hung out and enjoyed the day!

This is the sweetest thing.....both of my babies LOVE to rub heads with Mimi and only with Mimi.  Leah did this when she was a baby and now Lane is doing it too.  The funny thing is, Mimi didn't provoke this, they just did it on their own.  So sweet really!

Christmas Decor

Oliver was part of our daily decor, hiding in a different spot each and every morning!  Lane LOVED Oliver and was really good at finding him!  He would smile so big and just wave wave wave to him!

Leah was Daddy's sidekick hanging the Christmas lights!

Loved my front door this year!  It looked beautiful all lit up at night!

Our tree!

Lane's Tree.....We let the kids play with their trees in their rooms.  They undecorated and redecorated them daily!  Because of this, Lane really didn't touch the big tree!  Yay!
